As a corporate citizen and a company that aims to create sustainable value, Allianz Hong Kong believes in playing an active role to help our community grow and prosper through contributing to the place where we live and work.
Our community driven activities are diverse,
often through partnerships with community organizations and non-governmental
organizations (NGOs). These activities have all made a positive
contribution to the community in a variety of ways. Allianz Hong
Kong was awarded the title of ¡§Caring Company 2003-06¡¨ by the
Hong Kong Council of Social Services (HKCSS), in recognition of
good corporate citizenship.
Dress
Casual Day
Allianz supported the Dress Casual Day organized
by the Hong Kong Community Chest in the past couple of years.
Participants demonstrated their generosity by making donations
to this program in support of the charity work of the local community.
Discover Mai Po Charity Walk
Discover Mai Po Charity Walk is one of the annual major public outreach and fund-raising programs organised by the World Wide Fund Hong Kong. Allianz staff and their family members, making up a group of 60, showed commitment to the natural environment on 28 November 2004 by walking along the specially designed route inside the Mai Po Nature Reserve.
Solar Cart Race
As an environmentally conscious company, Allianz Hong Kong sponsored the 4th Solar Cart Race, organized by Friends of the Earth, in November 2003. The event was aimed at increasing awareness of environmental value and health benefits of renewable energy. The Race attracted 23 competing teams and a vast audience in Hong Kong.
Community Programs with SoCO
Partnerships with NGOs forms an integral part
of our community programs. In collaboration with the Society for
Community Organization (SoCO), Allianz Hong Kong supported the
Anti-SARS Campaign to provide medical hygiene packs to people
in need. In June 2002, we sponsored a project which provided air
conditioners to elderly people.
Walks for Millions
Allianz Hong Kong staff members joined the Walks for Millions organized by the Hong Kong Community Chest on 2 March, 2003 to raise funds to support the disabled.
The Hong Kong International Literary Festival
Since 2001, Allianz Hong Kong has been one of the key sponsors of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival. Each year the Festival contributes significantly to the well-being of Hong Kong by promoting a love of reading among children and adults through educational programs and discussion forums.
