Streamlined claims procedures

 
     
 

One of the key objectives of Allianz Hong Kong's claims team is to ensure that the process of submitting a claim is as simple and quick as possible for our customers.

 
     
 

To achieve this goal, we have streamlined the recommended series of actions that need to be taken by our intermediaries when putting forward a claim on behalf of their clients. All you have to do now in order to get the claim processed is to follow our procedure guidelines.

 
     
 

As soon as a loss is reported you should:

 
   
  1. Issue a claim form to the policyholder. We can supply you with the forms you need.
  2. Instruct the policyholder not to answer any correspondence from third parties and instead forward it directly to you. Please ask the policyholder to inform you if they receive notice of intended prosecution.
  3. Tell the policyholder to take any necessary steps to contain the loss. If the policyholder has to dispose of damaged property, Allianz' express permission must be obtained. Photographic evidence must also be obtained before the property is discarded.
  4. Contact Allianz Claims Division and give brief details of the loss. Remember to quote the name and policy number.
  5. When the claim form is returned, please check to make sure that it is fully completed. Fax or post it to us on the same day. If any other documents are required at the time of submitting the claim form, please ensure that they are attached securely to the original claim form.
   
         
 

Provided that all the above mentioned steps have been taken, and the premium has been paid to us in full, we will:

 
   
  1. Issue an acknowledgement with a reference number and the claims handler's name, within 2 working days of the initial advice.
  2. At the same time, tell you what other documentation we require.
  3. Once the claim form and all requested documentation are received, we will assess the claim and inform you, within 14 days of receipt, of our response and action taken.
